Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Rick Stephenson has worked in many different cities throughout the country including Minneapolis, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Shreveport. But Peoria is the city that won his heart and has been his home for ten years.

Rick's background stems from the broadcast industry and his resume is impressive to say the least. He has worked just about every job imaginable from Production and Creative Services Director to Operations Manager.

His accolades have been many. He was a top five finalist for Billboard Magazine's "Radio Personality of the Year" in 1989 and a panelist for USA Today for 18 months, picking top albums along with four other program directors from across the country.

In 2001, Rick became the morning air personality at WFYR. During his ten years at 97.3 River Country, Rick was awarded a Silver Dome Award for "Best Local Morning Show of the Year in a Medium Market" three times by the Illinois Broadcasters Association. Rick was also honored by the Country Radio Broadcasters in Nashville and received a Silver Dome Award for "Best Community Service Activity" for "Do Me A Favor Friday." His "Pledge of Allegiance" won a Silver Dome and an ADDY Award from the Peoria Ad Club. It’s no surprise that Rick has been a Top 5 Finalist for the Country Music Association and Academy Of Country Music Personality of the Year.

In 2011, Rick launched Rick Stephenson Communications to focus his energy where it means the most to him, the community. Non-profit organizations have always enjoyed Rick’s attention and many hours of devotion. “There are so many ways to give to the community, but none more important than your time. Volunteerism is the backbone of every organization and I want to make sure every person knows these great
organizations are out there and need their help.”
